Bellemark is a small CFA-registered cattery run by Ellen and Thomas, breeding & showing Contemporary American Burmese & Bombay.
We came into the cat fancy in Hong Kong in 2002, first as owners, then as exhibitors, and eventually as breeders. Thomas qualified as a CFA Licensed Master Clerk in 2014 and was named Clerk of the Year in 2017. He also holds Master Clerk status with the Feline Fanciers' Federation, and has served on the CFA Burmese Breed Council during 2023-2026
Our background
Before settling on the Burmese and Bombay, we exhibited Exotics, British Shorthairs, American Wirehairs, Abyssinians and American Shorthairs. That range taught us a great deal about what to look for — and what to walk away from — in health, type and temperament.
Bellemark was founded in 2016, and our breeding programme was built on bloodlines shared with us by respected breeders in the United States and Europe. We breed the best to the best, working with Breed Winners, Division Winners and Grand Champions.
What we have achieved:
Clean sweeps. Best Burmese in the CFA International Division across all three classes — Kitten, Championship and Premiership — in the 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2022/23 seasons.
A homebred National Winner. CH GP NW Bellemark Miracle Siobhan finished the season as a CFA National Winner.
In total, our cats have earned 1 National Winner, 1 Grand Premier of Distinction, 3 International Breed Winners, 7 Division Winners and 1 Regional Winner.
A new home in the UK
We moved to the United Kingdom in 2024, and we no longer campaign. CFA holds no shows in Britain, and competing from here means travelling to the European shows — a commitment we have chosen to set aside while we settle into our new home.We have not set aside the breeding. We still have our show-quality studs and queens, and the reason to keep going is straightforward: the contemporary Burmese is genuinely scarce here. Most Burmese in Britain and across Europe are bred to the traditional European type, which differs noticeably in head and body. So we decided to continue breeding to the CFA standard and preserve the contemporary type, as there may be no other breeders doing it in the UK.Our goal has not changed: healthy, well-made Bombay and Burmese kittens with loving temperaments, suited to the show ring and to family homes alike.
